I joined Gustavo's gym in 2021 and all I can say is this is the best BJJ community I have been a part of. This academy is stacked with excellent professors and boasts two large mat rooms. Gustavo's amazing lineage and teaching style makes this a great place to begin, learn, and train.

East Side Muay Thai (ESMT) is located in the heart of where I grew up in Virginia Beach. Head coach and owner, Jose, was one of the Muay Thai coaches at my first BJJ gym. Jose has one of the biggest, baddest, cleanest gyms around. Although I don't train Muay Thai as often as I should, I highly recommend ESMT because they are serious, traditional, and have great staff and seminar guests.

Located off the Main St traffic circle in Blacksburg, Tim Mannon's gym is the place to be when in the New River Valley area. I attended this Renzo Gracie school during my time at Virginia Tech. Stop in if you're a local student or just there to see a VT football game.
